IIT Jodhpur Campus: The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur witness 29 new positive cases of COVID-19 on the campus. In the total of 29, as many as 25 students are included those who tested positive at IIT Jodhpur. With these new numbers, a total of 225 positive cases have been reported on the campus. As per the authorities of the campus on Monday a massive campaign was put in place to test every campus resident. As a result, many students, authorities tested positive.
Official Statement
The official spokesperson and Deputy register of the institute Amardeep Sharma said, " these 29 students and staff members have been reported positive after fresh sample tests conducted on May 7." According to the officials, students tested positive on the campus due to the ongoing practicals of the April session which concluded on 7th May.
He further added that " the last semester of the Prime Minister ended on May 7 and the activities were now taking place online as the courses have been completed with the arrival of students on the campus for a practical session in April the infection started to spread in the campus. Incense practical sessions were essential we started calling students with adherence to guidelines by the human research and development ministry. "
However, none of the infected cases reported in serious condition and all those who tested positive earlier have recovered. The general student started leaving their homes after the semester examinations are over but given the lockdown in different states, it would not be possible for them to leave now. The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur administration has put in adequate arrangements given the spike in positive cases. They have also set up isolation and super isolation centres. Regular testing is conducted for every staff and student who come to college. They are kept in an isolation Centre until the report is collected.
