Manipur Board Exam: The Manipur government will implement a grading system for the Class 10 Board Exam starting this academic session 2024-25. Joint Secretary of the Education Department, Elangbam Sonia, stated that there would be no division or rank awarded in the grading system for the high school leaving certificate exam (class 10).
In addition, there will be no total marks/aggregate displayed in the document, no division/rank will be awarded, and only pass/fail will be printed. Under the new grading system, students scoring between 91 and 100 will receive an A1 grade, while those scoring between 81 and 90 will receive an A2 grade. Those with marks between 21 and 30 would receive an E1 grade, which, combined with E2, would be considered as fail.
How Will Grading System Help Students?
The Manipur government mentioned that competition amongst the students is good for improving one's performance. However, it should not lead to stress or completely dishearten a minor. The grading system aims to reduce stress and burden on the students helping them to learn with less stress without being over-competitive at their age.
According to an official, at least 37,715 students, including 18,628 female students, will appear for the matriculation exam. The board exam will take place at 154 examination centers from March 15 to April 8, 2024.
