NEET PG 2020 Fake Circular Busted: Press Information Bureau’s or PIB Fact Check Team and Health Ministry, in a recent incident, has flagged off a warning to all NEET PG 2020 aspirants about a fake circular doing the rounds on social media about online PG Counselling and Seat Allotment Process. With educational institutions closed since March and uncertainty over exam times, fake news and rumours about entrance exams, school board exams and others have been doing regular rounds on social media. The Health Ministry of India has also stated that no such letter has been issued by the Ministry with regards to NEET PG 2020 Exam.
What does the Fake Circular Say?
The fake circular that is in question this time is in the form of a letter issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to the Chief Secretaries of all states. The letter states that “responsibilities to conduct online counselling for allotment of postgraduate seats to eligible and qualified candidates should be done as per the directions of the Supreme Court of India.” The letter claims that the Health Ministry has asked the states to allot seats to candidates for NEET PG admission 2020 through respected state rounds/AIQ 50 percent seats/ Deemed/ Central Universities/ AFMC by Medical Counselling Committee.
MCC releases Allotment Letter for 2nd Round
Meanwhile, the Medical Counselling Committee i.e. MCC has issued fresh allotment letters to NEET PG 2020 candidates who have cleared the NEET PG/ MDS Exam 2020. The Letter has been issued for seat allotment through 2nd round of counselling. As per the letter, the date for physical reporting by the candidates at the allotted institutes has been extended until 30th June 2020. The letter also states that it will work as an e-pass or Curfew pass for candidates to help them reach their institutes amid the on-going travel restrictions that are in place in the light of increasing Coronavirus cases in the country.
