NEET PG SC Hearing 2024: The Supreme Court of India has postponed the NEET PG hearing. As per the revised dates, the court will hear the petitions seeking transparency in the NEET PG entrance exams and the release of the answer key on November 26, 2024.

Petitions were filed by NEET PG aspirants seeking answers from the National Board of Examinations regarding the conduct of the entrance exams, the transparency in the marking scheme, release of the question paper and answer key among other problems. 

In the previous hearing, the SC asked the NBEMS to provide answers as to why the NEET PG exam pattern was modified just three days before the conduct of the exams. 

Aspirants have asked for the answer key and RAW scores taken for calculating the NEET PG scores, however the same is yet to be provided by the NBEMS.

NEET PG Hearing 2024: What Happened in the Last Hearing

• According to the proceedings conducted on October 25, Justice JB Pardiwala raised concerns about the transparency of the conduct of the NEET PG exams. Concerns were raised as the answer verification could fall under the RTI Act.
• Computers evaluate examination answers, eliminating human involvement in the checking process and ensuring a purely automated evaluation method stated by the conducting body during the hearing.
• NEET PG answer key have not been released considering limited challenging questions available. It was also mentioned that releasing the answer key every year could provide students with access to all exam questions which can impact the test security.
• Justice Pardiwala instructed counsels and representatives from the Union of India to prepare their notes for the upcoming discussions on the next scheduled date.

The NEET PG hearing was first taken on September 20, 2024 where aspirants filed a petition seeking clarity in the conduct of the NEET PG exams along with other concerns which are being addressed in each of the hearing. It must however be noted that the NEET PG counselling process has already commenced despite the impending hearing and final verdict.
