The Rajasthan state government has decided to increase the scholarship amount for the students studying in Sainik Schools in the state along with the annual family income ceiling to apply for scholarships. According to reports, the state government will be providing Rs. 15000-37,500 instead of Rs. 10,000-25,000 to its bonafide studying in Sainik Schools in Chittorgarh and Jhunjhunu.
New proposal accepted for tuition fee
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal of the state Finance Department according to which Rs. 25,000 has to be paid for the tuition fee in the form of a full scholarship to the students studying in Sainik Schools with an annual income of Rs. 1.2 lakh. The government has increased the annual family income to Rs. 3 Lakh and the scholarship amount in the form of the tuition fee payable has also been increased to Rs. 37,500.
Current family income limit for Scholarship
The family income limit of the students eligible for the 3/4th scholarship has been revised in the new scholarship proposal from Rs. 1.2 Lakh to 1.8 Lakh to Rs 3 Lakh to 5 Lakh annually. The tuition fee in the form of a 3/4th scholarship will be Rs. 30,000 instead of Rs. 20,000.
According to the new scholarship proposal, the present annual family income limit of Sainik School students eligible for half the scholarship has been increased from Rs. 1.8 lakh-2.4 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh-7.5 lakh. The scholarship amount for the students has also been revised from Rs. 15,000 to 20,000.
The annual family income limit according to the new proposal of the students eligible for the one-fourth scholarship has been increased to Rs. 7.5 lakh-110 lakh against the Rs. 2.4 lakh-3- lakh. The scholarship amount of the tuition fee payable as per the new scholarship proposal has also been increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000.
