Education is a must for everybody in the society. All the governments of the state as well as the central government have been trying their level best to make proper arrangements for the education of the children. By educating them, they can be brought to the main stream of the society. If the population lack education then the growth of the country gets hampered. Also, it is important for the government to make proper arrangements for the education of girls. The number of the dropouts suggests that many girls leave their studies owing to the lack of security measures for them.

It is well known that the number of crime has been increasing against women and this has made them feel insecure going for the studies. In order to curb this, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has launched Samagra Shiksha initiative in 2018-19. The government has been trying its best to bring back the number of dropouts to a bare minimum. The Samagra Shiksha initiative is a part of integrated scheme of school education and self-defence training to the children. Self defence training is given specially to girls from class VI to XII. This has been aimed at making them feel safe and secure.

MHRD provide Rs. 3,000 per month to the girl students for three months per government-run school. The amount is given to them for self-defence training and imparting necessary life skills among the girl students. Apart from the government-run school, the training is made available for the students in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs). KGBVs are residential schools for girls of disadvantaged groups and are run from class VI to XII. MHRD has also asked all the states to avail funding for self-defence training under the Nirbhaya Fund. The fund is made available by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
