The Science Academies Summer Research Fellowship Program (SRFP) 2027 application process has started for eligible students and teachers. The two-month fellowship is being jointly organised by three national Science Academies, the Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS), Bengaluru; Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi; and The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Prayagraj.
Selected students and teachers will get an opportunity to work with scientists associated with the three academies on short-term research projects. The last date to submit the Science Academies Summer Research Fellowship 2027 application is November 30, 2026.
Science Academies Summer Research Fellowship 2027: Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open to students enrolled in specified undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated and dual-degree programmes. Teachers teaching in colleges and universities can also apply.
Eligible student programmes include BS/BSc, BSc Research, BStat/BMath, BPharm, BE/BTech/BCA, BArch, MS/MSc/MVSc/MPharm, ME/MTech/MCA/MArch, MStat/MMath, integrated programmes, PharmD and selected dual-degree programmes, among others. The year of study varies according to the programme.
SRFP 2027 Eligibility Criteria
- Students must be enrolled in an eligible course and year of study.
- Teachers must be teaching in a college or university.
- Students must have an average of at least 65% marks in core subjects, excluding languages, from Class 10 onwards up to the completed level of study.
- The 65% minimum marks requirement does not apply to teachers.
- PhD students are not eligible.
- Candidates who have already availed themselves of the Academies fellowship twice are not eligible to apply.
Science Academies Summer Research Fellowship 2027: Application Last Date
The last date to submit the SRFP 2027 application form is November 30, 2026. Applications have to be submitted online in the prescribed format. Candidates should not send hard copies of their application forms or marksheets.
Applicants must upload scanned copies of their marksheets from Class 10 up to their latest examination. The marksheets should be in JPEG format, with each file not exceeding 700 KB.
Only one application per candidate will be considered. Candidates submitting more than one application will not be considered for the fellowship.
