The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Madhya Pradesh has disclosed on 02 December 2013 the names of 20 cities that will have the centers for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) -Main 2014. However, the authority is yet to disclose the mode of examination – whether offline or online-- at these new centers. The Exam is going to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the month of April 2014.
The concerned authority has announced on the official website of DTE (MP) that the admission to the state engineering colleges from the next academic session onwards will be done through JEE as it’s an order from state government.
Now, the centers for JEE -Main 2014 in Madhya Pradesh are in Bhopal, Barwani, Balaghat, Betul, Chhatarpur, Chhindwara, Guna, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Shahdol, Ujjain and Vidisha.
Earlier, the DTE Madhya Pradesh had requested the CBSE to add on the number of JEE (Main) centers in the state. The DTE asked to approve 28 centers to conduct the exam in the state, but the CBSE has given nod to only 20 cities.
Earlier, the online exams were held in just four centers in the state viz. Bhopal, Sagar, Satna and Ujjain, and the offline exams were conducted at Gwalior, Indore and Jabalpur only.
