A step towards water conservation by Indian Government
Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Ministry of Water Resources invites application from students up to 18 years of age to participate in CGWB essay competition on water related issues under IEC. The interested students can apply in online mode before December 31 along with their essay article on 'Swachh Jal, Swachh Bharat'of around 1500 words.
With the idea of making Indian youth aware of the need of conservation and prevention of pollution of the natural resource like, water. The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation is going to conduct 3rd National Essay Competition on water-related issues under IEC activities 2017-18. The competition will be held among youths. The essay competition will be held in two phases. The 1st phase theme will be “Swachh Jal – Swachh Bharat” and 2nd phase topic will be given at the venue.

Candidates up to the age of 18 who are Aadhaar Card holder and must not be employed in Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation or any of its organizations.
Total of 60 essays will get selected for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and consolation prize for each zonal office. The prize details are listed under:
- 10 of the 1st prize winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50000.
- 10 of the 2nd prize winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25000.
- 10 of the 3rd prize winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 15000.
- 30 of the consolation prize winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5000.
Candidates need to write a maximum of 1500 words essay on "Swachh Jal - Swachh Bharat" in Hindi, English or any other local or regional language. They also need to attach the details of their father's or mother's name, date of birth, profession, name & address of educational institution or workplace, telephone number, communication address, Email id etc. along with the recent coloured passport size photograph attached with the essay and submit it to the Nodal Officer of candidate's respective State of stay via email or by post. They can also send the scanned copy of essay manuscript.
The Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation aims at developing and dispersing the technologies and implementing policies for sustainable and scientific development and management of Ground Water Resources of the Country.
