AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) is the most well known educational institute in the domain of medical education. It conducts its own entrance exam to screen students who are seeking admission to MBBS courses at AIIMS and other associated institutes. AIIMS is named as an institute of national importance and therefore number of medical career aspirants for AIIMS is high and hence there is very tough competition as far as admissions in MBBS courses are concerned.

Eligibility Criteria for AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam
AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam is a national level test and therefore follows strict eligibility criteria for students.
• Age limit: Candidate must have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. The upper age limit for the test is 25 years, with relaxation for reserved categories.
• Academic Qualifications: Candidate must have completed 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as main subjects. The minimum aggregate marks needed are 60% for general category and 50% for reserved categories.
• Appearing Students: Students appearing for 10+2 Exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as main subjects are also eligible for AIMMS MBBS Entrance Test

Exam Pattern
AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam is conducted online through a computer based test, which is conducted in two shifts (09.00 am to 12.30 pm and 03.00 pm to 06.30 pm) across designated centres all over India. The test consists of one paper with 200 questions of 1 mark each; including 140 multiple choice questions and 60 questions of reason assertion. The total time duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Exam Syllabus
There is no defined syllabus declared for AIIMS Entrance Exam; however majority of the questions will range from Class 12 syllabus (10+2/Intermediate exam) for core subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (both Botany and Zoology) and General Knowledge.

Marking system:
All questions in AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam carry 1 mark for correct answer and 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
