Bihar Department of Education is expected to empanel 4257 guest teachers for teaching in higher secondary schools (10 + 2) in Bihar. The age limit for the recruitment of guest teachers is 21 to 65 years. As per the report published in leading Hindi daily newspaper, a subject wise panel will be created at the district level for the appointment of Guest Teachers. This appointment process is expected to begin after summer vacation. As per the reports, guidelines have been issued to the District Education Officers in this regard. Appointment of Guest Teachers is expected to be finalized tentatively by 15 June 2018.
The tentative starting date of the application process is 21 May 2018 and as mentioned earlier, expected date of completion of the appointment process is 15 June 2018. 4257 Guest teacher vacancies have been notified for various districts of which 1041 are for English, 791 are for Maths,1024 for Physics, 974 for Chemistry, 290 for Botany and 137 for Zoology.
The first priority for the empanelment of Guest teachers will be PGT with STET (Paper II), then the preference will be given to TGT and if the PGT/TGT candidates are unavailable then the Postgraduate/Engineering graduates will be considered for Guest Teacher Posts

Guest Teachers will be paid a consolidated pay of 1000 rupees per day and maximum 25 thousand rupees per month as remuneration. It should be noted that Instead of appointment letters, guest teachers will be given an invitation letter. Guest Teachers will be expected to join the schools within 7 days of receiving the letter.
Once the official notification is released, candidates can apply through the official website as per instructions provided by the Board. Further details on empanelment will be available on the official website 21 May 2018 onwards.
