The British Council on 27 Nov 2013 has announced 370 scholarships worth Rs 10 crore Indian students who wish to attend UK Universities. Being considered as British Council’s largest-ever initiative for Indian students, this scholarship program will cover 260 undergraduate and postgraduate courses across 56 universities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
This is a British Council’s endeavor to encourage Indian bright students to attend Universities in UK, said Ottolie Wekezer, regional director, Services of International Education Marketing (South Asia), British Council.
An Education UK exhibition was held in Bangalore on 27 November to provide information to Indian students on sessions commencing from September 2014 and January 2015. A stall demonstration UK visa and immigration process was also featured in the exhibition, which was managed by immigration officers of the British High Commission.
As a part of its encouragement campaign, the British Council also launched a Great Career Guide that will help students learn about career opportunities available in UK.
"With the Great Scholarship and Great Career Guide, we aim to empower aspiring Indian students to choose the right course in Britain," stated Wekezer.
