Calcutta University PhD Admission 2013: Department of Physics

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

PhD (Tech.) in Computer Science & Engineering: Masters Degree in Physics. Candidates who are studying in the final semester of the qualifying examination and have cleared all the papers up to 3rd semester can also apply.

Candidates who have cleared either of the following qualifications MPhil/ MTech/ UGC/ CSIR (JRF) NET/ SET/ GATE/ SLET will be exempted from appearing in the written examination but will have to appear for the interview.

Selection Process

The candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Test (MCQ) followed by an interview of shortlisted candidates by the university. The syllabus of this examination is the Physics MSc syllabus of this University excluding Elective and Advanced Papers

Application Fee and Mode of Payment

Candidates are requested to deposit application fee of Rs100 either by cash or DD through duly filled in C.U. Challan, endorsed by the Head of the Department at University’s cash counters.

How to Apply

Candidates are required to submit duly filled in application form along with a challan, against the payment, is to be endorsed by the Head of Department (HOD). The filled in form is to be submitted to the Head of the Department, Department of Physics, University of Calcutta (92 Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road, Kolkata 700009.
