Delhi University’s Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) has decided to take Common Admission Test 2014( CAT 2014) valid for admissions of the students in the academic year 2015-17 for the 2 year MBA course which consists of 216 seats for aspiring applicants.
After the selection of candidates on the basis of their CAT scores, the candidates would have to undergo Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) to move through with the admission procedure. The final selection would be made taking into account of the CAT scores, GD and PI scores, previous work experience and overall academic profile of the candidates. Due to the change in the selection process of the students, DU would no longer conduct any separate entrance examination for the applicants of FMS programme and would select the candidates through their CAT 2014 scores for the MBA 2015-17 session of the university.
The CAT 2014 would be conducted on Sunday, November 16 and Saturday, November 22, 2014 at various centres across the nation. The result for the CAT 2014 is expected to get out in the third week of December, 2014.
Earlier CAT was labeled as the entrance test for taking students in the IIMs and other primary business institutes in India. This year onwards DU would be included in the list of colleges/universities who select candidates from their CAT scores. The CAT 2014 examination would be conducted by IIM Indore. The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) was created under the umbrella of DU which offers various part-time and full-time MBA programmes for students. The body has reported 100 percent placements for its students for the class of 2014.
