CBSE to conduct JEE Main 2018 pen paper based test on April 8

The exam date for pen paper-based test of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2018 has been announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The offline exam of JEE Main 2018 is scheduled to be held on April 8, 2018. However, the important dates for JEE Main 2018 including application dates and exam dates for computer-based test are yet to be announced.

The pen paper-based test of JEE Main 2018 will consist of paper 1 for B. Tech and Paper 2 for B. Arch. Candidates can appear in either of the papers or both as the tests will be held in separate shifts of Morning and Evening.

The registration window for JEE Main 2018 application is expected to be available by the first week of December 2017. The students who wish to appear for JEE Main 2018 must have their Aadhaar Card as CBSE has made Aadhaar Card mandatory for registration.

JEE Main 2018 aspirants can appear either in offline mode i.e. Paper-pen based test or online mode i.e. Computer based test. The candidates who will qualify the first level of IIT JEE 2018 will be shortlisted for next round of selection i.e. JEE Advanced 2018.

JEE Advanced 2018 will be conducted on May 20, 2018, as per the exam date announced by IIT Kanpur, the exam conducting authority. And as many as 2,24, 000 candidates who will qualify JEE Main will be shortlisted for the computer-based test. JEE Advanced 2018 comprises Paper 1 and Paper 2, and candidates have to appear for both papers in online mode at the allotted test centres.

Every year around 12 lakh aspirants appear for JEE Main for admissions to more than 24,000 Engineering courses offered at 23 Indian Institutes of Technology, 31 National Institute of Technology and other participating Institutes funded by Central/State Government.
