The Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) has decided to make the external marks attained by the individual students in the standard XII examination online. Previously the external marks were sent to the candidates through post. The external marks attained would now be uploaded to the official website of CBSE, making life easier for the schools under the board.
Making the external marks online would make the entire process easier and instant. It is expected that this would fasten the result process in the board and save valuable time. According to Principal of Jain International School, Amol Badjate, “This is a new system and now examiner can straightaway upload the marks on CBSE server after the test is over.” According to Principal of Modern School, Koradi, Anuradha Sardeshpande, “This will be for the board exam of Standard XII as in Standard X there are no external examiners. This will save a lot of paperwork and ensure records are updated in real time.” Though there have not been complaints of results getting misplaced in the earlier method of sending the same over post, it certainly delayed the process of getting the final result out.
Due to this move of getting online the scores, the schools under the board could come under one roof and there would be transparency in the whole process. The board has already created online software which can generate question papers for internal exams, on-screen marking, which is resulting in speedy results for standard X examination. The board is investing heavily on digitalization process and is raking in mechanisms which can help benefit the students and parties associated with the board.
