How to improve English Vocabulary for CDS Exam 2016

    How can I increase my Vocabulary??  How would I know what kind of words will be coming or it is impossible to cram these many words are the questions often asked by the students while preparing for any competition exam because this part is really important and moreover having a good grip on vocabulary will also make you better in English one can communicate well in public. Learning new words each day is also a fun activity. So we are providing tricks & tips which will make it easy for the Aspirants.

    1.Reading will make you skillful:  Read and Read the more you read the more you learn, reading newspaper, magazines, and books and good literature  will help you to find out the words because when you read to make an attempt to find the meaning and relate to the sentence it will give you more exposure.

    2.Learn and become Knowledgeable:  learning words each day will make you confident in this section during examination time. There are lots of website which will help you to make your own list, but remember do no cram because understanding the word and its usage is more important.
     
    3.Play Online: Yes it is easy and interesting !by downloading apps in your phones or using your desktop one can learn while playing, synonyms antonyms or one word substitution, cross word puzzled or word jumble  which will also tell your score and can track your achievement.

    4.Look up and Dive in:  when you see any unfamiliar word doesn’t skip that word. Try to find out the meaning first your own and then use dictionary and dive into it and look for the meanings which have lengthy explanations and the origin of the word which will go a long way to remember.

    5.Thesaurus:  Thesaurus is a good friend and great way to learn new words based on existing definitions. While reading look for overused word and utilize your thesaurus for an alternative. This process will help you develop a natural ability to search your brain for the multitude of possibilities.

    6.Don’t forget to write: This is the best technique to remember more words by writing a page daily in your diary about your daily routine by using newly learned words which will make you understand its usage and will also improve your writing skills.

    7.Engage in conversation: when you communicate with others one can learn and discover new words too. As when you read a new word remembers to jot it down and start using in your conversation which will improve your confidence also. For instance, you learned the word “esoteric” used this in conversation: “The FBI’s language is esoteric to ensure national security”

    8.Team Work:  Play with your sibling or friends and explore more words. Play passing the word, or when you save any contact in your mobile add one word related to the personality of that person so when you scroll your contacts you will see your own created list.
