Delhi: The Delhi University has decided to declare separate cut offs for Kashmiri migrants. This will include students outside Delhi and Jammu, as well. This will help the Kashmiri migrants across the nation to avail the 5 percent quota for DU Admission 2016.
Earlier the cutoff lists in DU admission 2016-17 were declared for five categories, namely General, SC, ST, OBC and PWD. This year the varsity is going to release the cutoff list for Kashmiri migrants as well. in addition to this the University has also included a new policy of including the migrants outside of Delhi and Jammu. All the Kashmiri migrants from across the nation can avail the 5 percent quota in DU admission 2016.
Along with the existing 5 percent quota, a concession of about 10 percent in the last cutoff list of general category will be extended to the Kashmiri migrant category. However this won’t be valid where admissions are based on entrance examination.
Students interested to avail the benefits of the Kashmiri migrant category need to submit a certificate of registration as Kashmiri migrant along with the proof of property in Kashmir and the residential proof in Delhi as the additional requisites.
The DU Admission process has begun and will continue till 19 June 2016.
