Educational Qualifications: Candidate should
1. be an eminent scholar with a doctoral degree in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline and published work of high quality.
2. be actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of ten publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
3. Have a minimum of ten years experience in post-graduate teaching, and / or research at a University / National level institution, including experience of guiding research at doctoral level.
For direct recruitment of Professor in the University, consolidated API scores of 400 points is required along with other specified eligibility qualifications stipulated in the Regulations 2010.

Educational Qualifications: Candidate should
1. Have a good academic record with doctoral degree in concerned or allied / relevant discipline.
2. Have a Masters degree with at least 55% of marks or an equivalent grade of 'B' in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E.
3. Have a minimum of eight years experience of teaching and / or research in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University / College or Accredited Research Institution, excluding the period of doctoral research, with some distinction in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of a minimum of five publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
For direct recruitment of Associate Professor in the University, consolidated API scores of 300 points is required along with other specified eligibility qualifications stipulated in the Regulations 2010.
Candidates applying for the posts of Professor and Associate Professors should have contributed to educational innovation, design of new courses, curricula, and technology-mediated teaching / learning process and / or evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and/or research students. Besides, he/ shed should have obtained a minimum score as indicated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) as set out in the UGC Regulations, 2010.

Educational Qualifications: Candidate should
1. Have good academic record with at least 55% marks or, an equivalent grade of 'B' in the 7 point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E and F at the Master’s Degree level, in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from accredited foreign University.
2. Have M.Phil and Ph.D. in the relevant field as it may be prescribed in appropriate cases, a desirable or essential qualification. The minimum qualifications shall not be relaxed even if a candidate has research degrees like M.Phil or Ph.D.
3. Have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturers conducted by the UGC, CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC (disciplines in which NET is not conducted are exempted from this condition).
[Candidates who have been awarded the Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of qualification in the NET. ]
For direct recruitment as Assistant Professor, weight-age to be considered for selection along with other specified eligibility qualifications shall be as stipulated in the Regulations 2010.
Selection Process:
Final selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Interview.
Where the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large and it will not be convenient or possible to Interview all the candidates, the University, at its discretion, may restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications / experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
Interview criterion for the posts of Professor and Associate Professors, out of 100 points, shall be as follows:
- Academic Background 20%
- Research Performance based on API score and quality of publications 40%
- Assessment of Domain Knowledge and Teaching Skills 20%
- Interview Performance: 20%
Interview criterion for the posts of Assistant Professor, out of 100 points, shall be as follows:
- Academic Record and Research Performance: 50%
- Assessment of Domain Knowledge and Teaching skills: 30%
- Interview Performance: 20%
Application Fees:
Candidates need to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.500 (General category & OBC candidates) through a crossed DD drawn in favor of ‘The Finance Officer, Jawaharlal Nehru University’ from any nationalized bank and payable at New Delhi.
SC/ ST/ PH candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

Note:
1. A relaxation of 5% in marks may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master’s level for the SC/ST/PH category and to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have passed their Master's Degree prior to 19 September 1991.
2. The period of time spent by the candidates to acquire M.Phil and / or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as research experience.
3. Relaxation in educational qualifications, experience, age, etc. to the reserved category candidates will be permissible as per Government rules.
4. The eligibility of the candidates will be determined on the basis of qualifications acquired sby them up to the last date for receipt of applications.
5. A candidate, who has applied earlier informally and sent his / her bio-data /academic vitae to the Vice-Chancellor or any other competent authority of the University, must apply afresh.
