Eligibility Conditions for Health Assistant
To become a Health Assistant a candidate needs to have qualified senior secondary (12th) with Science (Biology) stream or the related subject from a recognized board or university. In addition to this the candidates must have completed Certificate Course in Multi Purpose Health Assistant Training Course or Sanitary Inspector Training.
Age Limit for Health Assistant
To become a Health Assistant a candidate’s age must fall into the range of 18 years to 44 years. However, the upper age limit could be 30 years at some of the institutions. The reserved category (SC / ST / OBC / PWD/ ExSM) candidates get relaxation in upper age limit according to the rules laid down by the Government.
Selection Process for Health Assistant
The selection of candidates for Health Assistant posts is done on the basis of their performance in the Academic Records and Personal Interview. However, the recruiting institutions may conduct written exam for screening of candidates if it receives higher number of applications in proportion to the number of vacancies. Written exam consists of the questions related to the general knowledge and biological sciences (intermediate level).
Salary Structure of Health Assistant
For the post of Health Assistant, initially, a salary is given according to the Pay Matrix i.e. Rs. 18,400 – 55,410/- of the Seventh Pay Commission. Salary could be according to the Sixth Pay Commission wherever new pay structure has not been implemented. Apart from this, various allowances (DA, HRA, etc.) are also given. If appointment is done on contract basis, the salary could be Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 25,000 per month.
