    Explanation:

In this section we will explain the rationale for choosing the answer pertaining to every question. After reading this description, you would be able to understand the logical reasoning puzzle and solve it easily.

Explanation :( 1-3): The following table will emerge out of the given clues:

    Station

    Gets in

    Gets down

    Basic Station

    Kashmere Gate

    Rajiv chowk

    INA

    AIIMS

    Qutab Minar

    ECF/BD

    BD/CF

    G

    A

    ___________

    __________

    __________

    F

    BD

    E

    GCA

    Start from the Statement (iv).

Then go through statement (v): A travels only two stations and gets down at Qutab Minar which means that he must have boarded at AIIMS.

Then go to Statement (ix), proceed through (viii) to Statement (ii) and proceed as said in the remaining statements.

    Explanation (2)

Data inadequate as we do know whether it is the base station or Kashmere Gate.

    Explanation (4 -6)

    Reaction

    Clue 1

    Clue 2

    Clue 3 Statement 1

    Statement 2

    Statement 3

    Statement 4

5 People and 5 different fruits

    5 Different sports.

    B – Cricket – Not banana

C - Red – Not Swimming or Chess

E - Play – Not  grapes or banana

    A - chess

D – Not banana or Pineapple

At this stage, combining Statements 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Clue (iii) you will get the following table:

    A

    B

    C

    D

    E

    Chess

    banana#

    Cricket

    Grapes/orange/

    Pineapple

    Tennis

    Apple

    Swimming*

    Grapes/orange

    Golf

    Orange/ pineapple

    * Since C does not Swim, D must like Swimming and C must like Tennis.

    # A must like banana, since B, D and E are not like banana.

Further we are not able to define the exact fruit for B, (can be Grapes/orange/Pineapple), D (grapes or orange) or E (orange/pineapple). Hence the above table is the final one.

    Explanation:  (7-10):

From Clues (i), (ii), and (iii):

    7 people – P, Q, R, S, T, U and V

5 countries – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan.

5 specialisations – Administrator, Economist, Social activist, Banker and environmentalist.

From Clues (iii) and (iv) we have:

    S

    T – France

    X environmentalist,

     X Social activist

    V – Canada

    Banker

    U– No Place

    ?

    Q – No Place

    Economist

    P – X Bangalore, X Kolkata

    X Social activist

    R -

Refining the above table, the following deduction can be made: T must be Administrator. The table evolves to

    S -

    T – France

    V – Canada

    U – No Place

    Q – No Place

    P – Germany

    R -

    Administrator

    Banker

    Social activist

    Economist

    Environmentalist
