CSIR- Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology is one of the premier research institutes of CSIR that is engaged in research in genomics, molecular medicine, bioinformatics, proteomics and environmental biotechnology. It invites application from eligible candidates for PhD Programmes in Biological and Chemical Sciences, Molecular Medicine and Disease Genomics, Environmental Biotechnology and Computational Biology.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Postgraduate degree in any field of Science or allied subjects with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent with special interest in Biology. Candidates having BTech (in biological sciences or other branches with special interest in Biology)/B.Pharm./MBBS candidates may also apply.

Note: Candidates should have fellowship from either of the following CSIR/UGC-JRF, ICMR- JRF, DBT-JRF, DBT-BINC, DST-INSPIRE, GATE-JRF. Fellowship conditions should allow them to work in CSIR laboratories and under CSIR projects. BTech/ BPharma candidates should have valid GATE score of 95 percentile or above.

Selection Process

The shortlisted candidates will be selected on the basis of Written Test that will evaluate their abilities to comprehend, analyze and reason along with the aptitude in biological sciences. The written test will be conducted in 10 cities viz., Delhi, Pune, Kolkata , Chennai, Chandigarh, Trivandrum, Bhopal, Baroda, Hyderabad and Guwahati. It will be followed by two rounds of interview by the Institute which will be conducted at CSIR-IGIB at Delhi. The finally selected candidates shall be informed by 17 June 2013 and will have to join by 8 July 2013.

The application fee of Rs 500 (Rs 250 for SC/ ST candidates) needs to be paid online only using Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.
