State Wise Selection of IAS and IPS in Civil Services Exam 2015

    The process of Civil Services (IAS) Exam 2015 is over now. The UPSC had sent the list of recommended candidates to the ministry of personal and now Ministry of Personal come up with the service allocations to the selected candidates of IAS Exam 2015. In UPSC Civil Service Exam 2015 (CSE – 2015), 902 candidates were selected through the final merit list out of which 180 candidates got Indian Administrative Services(IAS) while 138 got Indian Police Services.

    While comparing state-wise result Delhi tops the final selection list with 130 selections followed by Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan with 121 and 97 selections respectively. But here is some ambiguity as several candidates belonging to other states have given their address of Delhi where they used to stay during their preparation.

    Here, we are providing the state wise analysis of selections under various categories of 14 Northern states of India. The table can be read as if we take Delhi with 130 selections in total where 12 General, 6 OBC, 4 SC and 1 ST categories have been allocated with IAS rank whereas 10 General, 4 OBC and 4 SC has been allocated with IPS rank.

    Here, you can see the result of Uttar Pradesh, 29 candidates under all category got IAS rank which is highest among all the states where as the states like Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha got only 1 candidate IAS rank under all categories.

    IAS and IPS from Jammu and Kashmir

    3 IAS and 1 IPS were selected from the state Jammu and Kashmir. The Total number of selections from the state is 9 that is around 1 percent of the total selection.

    1 IAS and 1 IPS were selected from the state Himachal Pradesh. The Total number of selections from the state is 2 that is around 0.22 percent of the total selection.

    4 IAS and 3 IPS were selected from the state Uttarakhand. The Total number of selections from the state is 11 that is around 1.22 percent of the total selection.

    19 IAS and 15 IPS were selected from the state Rajasthan. The Total number of selections from the state is 97 that is around 10.75 percent of the total selection.
