Tamil Nadu School Holidays 2024: There are 100+ holidays falling in 2024, which students can avail of with marking as absent. These holidays are approved by the government and are applicable all over the state. Here is the list of holidays month-wise that students can refer to to check whether their school will remain closed on a particular occasion or not. Heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu led to widespread school and college closures across multiple districts on December 12, 2024. While Tiruvallur schools operated with flexibility, holidays were declared in southern districts like Tiruchi, Thanjavur, and Ramanathapuram. Chennai experienced light showers, allowing institutions to function normally, unlike Puducherry and Karaikal, where closures were announced. Salem, Cuddalore, and Nagapattinam also shut educational institutions. The IMD issued an orange alert for Chennai and nearby districts, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall. Authorities managed excess water release from reservoirs and issued safety advisories. Tourist activities in Kodaikanal were disrupted due to the downpour.
