1. Swavlamban 2024
Swavlamban 2024 is the 3rd edition of the Indian Navy's Naval Innovation and Indigenisation (ΝΙΙΟ) Seminar.

- Lothal, a name that combines the Gujarati words “Loth” and “thal,” meaning “the mound of the dead,” is rich in historical importance, and falls within the Dholka Taluka of Ahmedabad district.
- This initiative, led by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, aims to celebrate and showcase India’s extensive maritime heritage, which spans over 4,500 years.
- This ancient city, dating back to 2400 BCE, grew into a bustling trading port within the Indus Valley Civilization.
- Situated near Saragwala village in Lothal, the NMHC will serve as a hub for showcasing and preserving India’s rich and diverse maritime heritage.
- The National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) is a multifaceted project that will encompass several key components including galleries, a Lothal Town and Open Aquatic Gallery, a Lighthouse Museum, a Bagicha Complex, Coastal State Pavilions, and others.
3. World Post Day: 150th Anniversary of the Universal Postal Union
On the occasion of World Post Day, the Department of Posts, Government of India, unveiled a special set of commemorative postage stamps celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
- It is noted that, established on October 9, 1874, in Bern, Switzerland, the UPU is a cornerstone of modern postal cooperation, with India being one of its oldest and most active members.
- The UPU has a total 192 member countries across the world.
4. Indian Navy signs MoU with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company
Indian Navy has entered into an MoU with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company for offering diverse product portfolio including Term Insurance to Naval Civilians at affordable premiums with various options.

The 28th edition of the multi-national maritime exercise Malabar -2024 has commenced at Visakhapatnam.
