  • Medical College and Hospital Kolkata
    Popularly known as Calcutta Medical College, it was established in 1835. It is one of the oldest medical colleges and among the first few in Asia. It has been a witness to the drastic change in choice of medicine - from the Indian medicine era to the allopathic medicine era. It has been producing highly talented medical professionals since ages.
  • North Bengal Medical College
    Located in Siliguri, NBMC is among the nine government medical colleges in West Bengal. Since its inception in 1968, it is affiliated to the North Bengal University and is funded by the West Bengal State Government. Besides the regular MBBS, it also offers MD and MS courses in various fields of medical science.
  • KPC Medical College
    KPCMC&H is a medical educational institute dedicated to provide higher education to the medical aspirants. Approved by the Government of West Bengal, it is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. It offers MBBS and the curriculum for the same has been designed according to the directives of the Medical Council of India.
  • Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research
    Started as the Presidency Hospital for Europeans in 1707, it was converted into an institute and came to be known as IPGMER in 1957. Owing to its continuous struggle towards becoming one of the premier medical colleges in India, today it offers a variety of courses including under graduate, post graduate, special medical degrees and diplomas and para medical programs.
  • Calcutta National Medical College
    With an aim of reaching out to more medical aspirants, the Calcutta National Medical College has been started recently in 2004. During a short span of time, it has become a premier medical institute offering a degree course in MBBS. It is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. Recognised by the MCI, aspirants have to clear the WBJEE examination to get into this college.
  • Bankura Sammilani Medical College
    Founded in 1956, BS Medical College started with strength of just 25 students. Recently in 2005, all the courses offered here have been recognized by the Medical Council of India. The courses are offered in general medicine, pediatric medicine, gynecology, obstetrics, and general surgery. Its library is stacked with over 15000 books and more than 30000 journals.
  • RG Kar Medical College
    Initiated in 1916, RG Kar Medical College was started as St Car Michael Medical College. Earlier it had affiliation from the University of Calcutta but from 2003 onwards it has got affiliation from the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. It offers courses like MBBS, MS, MD, diploma courses, MCh, DM, and BSc nursing.
