UGC invited Nominations for UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) 2013-14

    UGC invited nominations from Universities/ Institutions for UK- India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) Thematic Partnerships till 30 May 2013 by 5 pm. The partnership will include Humanities, Social Sciences, Science and Technology projects and will receive funding from both UGC and UKIERI.

    The proposal in partnership from Indian and UK Higher Education Institutions, which are recognised under the Section 2(f) and 12 B of the UGC Act, were invited by University Grants Commission to develop mutually beneficial research partnerships. The aim is to enhance education links between India and UK.

    The online application for these can be sent by only one of the lead partners which further should be printed off by both partners, signed and counter signed by the relevant institutional authority with seal (with the permission to commit institutional resources) and sent to the UKIERI Secretariat in New Delhi. The hard copy of online application (signed and authorized) should be sent to Ms. Suruchi Pareek, UKIERI Secretariat, British Council Division, 17, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi 110001 and Shri Charan Dass, Under Secretary, University Grants Commission, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi -110 002 before 15 June 2013.

    The UK India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) started in April 2006 with the aim of enhancing educational links between India and the UK. Phase Two (2011 to 2016) of UKIERI was announced in July 2010 by Prime Minister of both the countries and is jointly funded by the Indian and UK governments.
