Lowering of vapour pressure is highest for

(a) 0.1 M BaCl2

(b) 0.1 M glucose

Solution 1:

Lowering of vapour pressure is directly proportional to the Van't Hoff factor (i).

For BaCl2,i = 3 (maximum)

Thus, BaCl2 has highest value relative lowering of vapour pressure.
