US varsity introduces ISRO Fellowship
Recently, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched a fellowship for the first time at a US varsity.
Recently, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched a fellowship for the first time at a US varsity. The prominent California Institute of Technology (Caltech) at their Graduate aerospace laboratory established a fellowship of Indian space Research Organization. This fellowship has been launched in tribute to Dr. Satish Dhawan, a respectful chairman of ISRO between 1972 and 1984.
This fellowship offered an opportunity for a meritorious student of ISRO, who studied in the department of Aerospace department can pursue masters in Aerospace engineering through the Caltech university. This fellowship starts from the winter session of Caltech in the academic year 2013-2014.
This will improve the bonding between space centers of India and US. An alumun of Caltech, Satish Dhawan has attained a PhD in aerospace through Graduated Aerospace Laboratories, Caltech in 1951. During the period of 1971-72, he was working as distinguished visiting professor, leading Chairmanship of ISRO initializing in 1972. The highest alumnus tribute of Caltech, the Distinguished Alumni Award, was offered to Dhawan in 1969 by Caltech.
