Focusing on the growth of Education in the state and to promote awareness and inspire youth, the Uttarakhand government is out with various schemes and incentives, which were approved in the meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister, Harish Rawat.
For instance, the Chief Minister Harish Rawat in early 2014 had announced to distribute Laptops to those students who attain more than 80% marks in class 12 state examinations, as informed to the PTI by board. Uttarakhand Board of School Education announced the result of Uttarakhand Board /UEEB for Class 12 and Class 10 examination, yesterday.
The laptops would also be awarded to those students who attain more than 70% in higher, technological and medical education in Uttarakhand.
Likewise, efforts to elevate girl education are also laid by having decide by the Cabinet to raise the scholarship amount from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 with effect from April 1, under 'Kanya Dhan Scheme'.
By the end of this month, filling 2,394 vacant teacher posts in primary schools, and creating 1200 new posts over the next 2 years in schools is also on the cards.
This year the class 10 and 12 results have seen substantial improvements. The Girls defeated Boys in attaining overall higher pass percentage. The Girls recorded 84.36% pass percentage while Boys had at 75.61%.
For determining admissions to Uttarakhand Technical University, the state conducted entrance exam through Uttarakhand State Engineering Entrance Examination (UKSEE) 2014, which scheduled to be held on 27 and 28 May 2014. Subsequently, the results would be made public on 10 June.
