India on 29 July 2017 defeated Kazakhstan, 75-73, to clinch the FIBA Women's Asia Cup’s Division B title. The thrilling final was held at the Kanteerava Indoor stadium in Bengaluru.
To celebrate the win, the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) announced a cash award of Rs 10 lakh for the Indian team.
On the other hand, Japan defeated Australia 74-73 in the Division A summit clash.
About FIBA Women's Asia Cup
• The FIBA Women's Asia Cup is an international basketball tournament for women's national team from FIBA Asia and FIBA Oceania.
• Before 2017, it was known as the FIBA Asia Women's Championship.
• The 2017 FIBA Women's Asia Cup was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain.
• The tournament was held from 23 to 29 July in Bengaluru.
