India on 29 July 2017 defeated Kazakhstan, 75-73, to clinch the FIBA Women's Asia Cup’s Division B title. The thrilling final was held at the Kanteerava Indoor stadium in Bengaluru.

To celebrate the win, the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) announced a cash award of Rs 10 lakh for the Indian team.

The FIBA Women's Asia Cup is an international basketball tournament for women's national team from FIBA Asia and FIBA Oceania.

Before 2017, it was known as the FIBA Asia Women's Championship.
