Himachal Pradesh celebrated 66th Himachal Day on 15 April 2013 with great enthusiasm across the state. Himachal Pradesh came into existence on 15 April 1948 with the merger of 30 princely states.
The celebration for the 66th Himachal Day was held at the historic Dhalpur Ground at Kullu. The Chief Minister of the state, Virbhadra Singh presided over the state-level function organised. During the function, the Chief Minister announced many schemes for the state which are under development phase like Mukhyamantri Adarsh Krishi Gaon Yojana, Skill Development Allowance and others.
Under the scheme Mukhyamantri Adarsh Krishi Gaon Yojana that state is planning to initiate Agricultural Development Plans that will be prepared for one Panchayat in all the 68 assembly constituencies.
In the skill development Allowance, the government would provide 1000 rupees per month to educated unemployed youths and 1500 rupees to persons with disabilities of the state. Announcement for increasing the grant under Rajiv Awas Yojna from initial 48000 rupees to 75000 rupees was made on the occasion. The Chief Minister also made different types of announcements for enhancing the drinking water facilities across the state.
