Spanish researchers discovered a rare mollusce in Antarctic waters that looks the same as limpets but is bigger in size. The discovered species was named Zeidora Antarctica. It is 14 milimetre long. It was discovered at a depth of more than 600 metres in the Bellingshausen Sea in Antarctica.
The discovery was made by a research team from the Ecology and Zoology Department of the University of Vigo, Spain and was published in The Nautilus.
The discovery provides more information on the members of the Zeidora genus and their geographic distribution. The group is made up of 14 species of which very few specimens were found.
