Aadhaar Scheme was Launched in Four Circles of Rajasthan

Rajasthan state government launched Aadhaar scheme on 2 August 2011 to provide 12-digit Unique identification numbers in Rajasthan Postal Circle, Jaipur during a function held at Rajasthan Police academy.  The scheme was also launched in Ajmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur through video conferencing.

The special cover of Aadhaar was also launched by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and department of Posts. AADHAAR is a unique identification project in India. Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique number which the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will issue for all residents in India. The number will be stored in a centralized database and linked to the basic demographics and biometric information, photograph, ten fingerprints and iris of each individual.
