The Aditya Birla Group firm Ultra Tech Cement on 10 September 2013 announced the acquisition of Jaypee Cement Corporation's (JCCL) Gujarat unit for 3800 crore Rupees.
Jaypee Cement Corporation's (JCCL) Gujarat unit comprises of an integrated cement unit at Sewagram and grinding unit at Wankbori.
With this acquisition of 4.8 million tonne capacity, the company capacity will increase to 59 million tonnes per annum, which will go up to 70 million tonnes by 2015.
