The President of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Praful Patel was on 21 April 2011 appointed member of the Ad-Hoc Committee for Member Associations for the term 2011-15 by Executive Committee of the Asian Football Confedeation (AFC). Praful was also appointed the Deputy Chairman of the AFC Competitions Committee.
The Ad-Hoc Committee will act as a consultative body for AFC Executive Committee in matters related to Member Associations. The committee will hold discussions on development and management of professional football as well as on Club Licensing System. Also the Ad-Hoc Committee is expected to act as a consultative body for AFC Executive Committee in matters related to Professional Clubs and Leagues in Asia. The Committee shall ensure that AFC's social responsibilities are discharged consistent with AFC's policies and objectives and to be a source of unity to the football fraternity.
The Executive Committee also decided to appoint Sunando Dhar, CEO, I-League and Rajiv Piramal, Club Director, Pune FC as Co-opted members of the Ad-Hoc Committee for Professional Clubs for the term 2011-15. A R Khaleel was appointed as a member of the AFC Social Responsibility Committee for the term 2011-2015.
