Power plant equipment manufacturer BHEL on 15 December 2010 received the SCOPE Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to Public Sector Management. The award was conferred on conferred on BHEL in the Large Scale PSE’ category for the year 2008-09. BHEL, which clocked a turnover of Rs 34150 crore in 2008-09 fiscal had successfully increased its turnover by three times and net profit by four times in the last five years.
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, a P Navratna Company and the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India was conferred with the prestigious MoU Excellence Award for the year 2008-09. Power Grid along with BHEL was bestowed with the Scope Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Management (2008-09) -large scale PSE category.
The award was given by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises for being the top performer in the Energy Sector. The SCOPE award was presented by Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh.
