Nitish Kumar, who returned to office for his third term as the chief minister of Bihar in November 2010 was on 17 December named Forbes Person of the Year 2010. Nitish Kumar was chosen to be honoured with the Person of the Year title for the transformative change he has engineered in the state. The announcement was made in New Delhi on the occasion of the unveiling of Forbes magazine’s Year-end Special issue. The theme for the unveiling event was- The advice that has stayed with me. The Forbes magazine’s Year-end Special issue features 24 super achievers from fields ranging from badminton to bureaucracy. For the second time in a row Forbes selected a politician for the title. In 2009, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was bestowed with the title.
