China’s trade deficit stood at 7.3 billion US dollars in February 2011, which is largest in seven years. It was China’s biggest trade deficit since February 2004 and its first since March 2010. Inflation reached a 28-month high of 5.1% in the year to November. China tightened its monetary policies to achieve its 2011 goal of holding inflation to an average of 4% this year.
