Chinese tennis palyer Li Na’s won the French Open women singles title on 4 June 2011 by defeating defending champion Francesca Schiavone. She became the first Asian to win grand slam singles title. Li displayed an all-conquering maturity in her straight sets victory over holder Italy’s Francesca Schiavone. She had reached the Australian Open final in January 2011 but was defeated by Belgian Kim Clijsters.
The Chinese professional tennis player has won 5 WTA and 19 ITF singles titles. She is currently ranked World No. 4 by World tennis Association (WTA).
