Congress legislator Sadanand Singh on 29 November 2015 was administered oath by Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind as pro-tem speaker of the 16th Legislative Assembly of Bihar.
Kovind administered oath to Singh as pro-tem speaker at a function held at the Raj Bhawan, Patna.
Singh, who is a ninth-term MLA, will administer oath to all newly-elected members of the House.
The duty of the MLA, who was elected from Kahalgaon constituency in Bhagalpur district, as pro-tem speaker will get over after oath by the members and election of the Speaker on 2 December 2015. Afterwards, Singh will resume duties as the Congress legislature party leader in the state Assembly.
