The Central Government recently appointed IAS Sanjay Murthy as the new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in place of Girish Chandra Murmu. Murmu was the first Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir after the formation of the new Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Currently, Murthy is working as Secretary, Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education.

2. (b) Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve

Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve of Chhattisgarh has been notified as the 56th Tiger Reserve of the country. Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav has given this information.  Guru Ghasidas – Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve will be the third largest tiger reserve in the country with an area of more than 2800 square kilometres.

Recently, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Science and Technology has launched the Grievance Redressal Assessment and Index (GRAI) 2023. It was conceptualised and designed by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India. Which was launched on the recommendation of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

4. (a) GSAT-N2 (GSAT-20)

India's GSAT-N2 (GSAT-20) communication satellite was recently successfully launched by SpaceX's Falcon-9 rocket. This is India's advanced communication satellite. It was developed by New Space India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of ISRO under the Department of Space.

A historic referendum was held in Gabon, with 91% of voters voting in favour of a new constitution. The purpose of this constitution is to end the hereditary rule that has been going on for 55 years and ensure the restoration of democratic civilian government. This referendum has been conducted by the ruling military junta, which came to power through a coup in August 2023. This move symbolizes a major change in the political landscape of the country.

6. (c) Odisha

Odisha has won the title by performing brilliantly in the 14th Hockey India Senior National Championship. The Odisha team defeated two-time champions Haryana 5-1 in the final held at the SDAT-Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai.
