The Central Government recently appointed IAS Sanjay Murthy as the new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in place of Girish Chandra Murmu. Murmu was the first Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir after the formation of the new Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Currently, Murthy is working as Secretary, Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education.

Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve of Chhattisgarh has been notified as the 56th Tiger Reserve of the country. Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav has given this information. Guru Ghasidas – Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve will be the third largest tiger reserve in the country with an area of more than 2800 square kilometres.
