America's Global Finance magazine has declared State Bank of India (SBI) as India's Best Bank for 2024. Global Finance recognised SBI as India's Best Bank for 2024 at the 31st Annual Best Bank Awards ceremony. SBI Chairman CS Setty received this award.

With an aim to promote wildlife tourism in Gujarat, the first phase of Barda Wildlife Sanctuary and Barda Jungle Safari will be inaugurated on October 29 at Kapurdi check post of Devbhoomi Dwarka. The Barda Wildlife Sanctuary inaugurated in Dwarka will be the second habitat for Asiatic lions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez on Monday inaugurated the Tata Advanced Systems facility in Vadodara, Gujarat, which is the country's first private military aircraft factory. This is the first private sector final assembly line for military aircraft in India, where C-295 aircraft will be manufactured.

The Under-23 Wrestling World Championship is being held in Tirana, Albania. India's Abhishek won the bronze medal by defeating Mykyta Abramov of Ukraine 3-0 in the men's 61 kg freestyle category. Meanwhile, Bashir Magomedov of Azerbaijan won the gold medal.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced the setting up of Special Education Zones (SEZs) in six districts—Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Agra, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Bundelkhand—to promote education in the state. These SEZs will be integrated centres of education and skill development, which will provide high level education to the students.
