1. (a) Ashok Chandra

Recently, the Government of India has appointed Ashok Chandra as the MD and CEO of Punjab National Bank. The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has approved his appointment. Ashok Chandra is currently working as the Executive Director of Canara Bank. He will replace Atul Kumar Goyal.

2. Australia

Australian wicketkeeper batsman Matthew Wade has recently announced his retirement from international cricket. He played a brilliant innings in the semi-final of T20 World Cup 2021. Matthew Wade made his T20 International debut for Australia in 2011. He has scored 1202 runs in 92 T20I matches for the team, including three half-centuries.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu recently inaugurated the state's first digital library in Bilaspur. Along with this, he also inaugurated the new building of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau constructed in the district at a cost of Rs 1.67 crore.

Indian women cricketer Smriti Mandhana has become the woman cricketer to score most centuries for India in ODI cricket. She scored her 8th century in ODI, with this she became the woman cricketer scoring most centuries for India. She has surpassed Mithali Raj's record of 7 ODI centuries.

National Ayurveda Day is celebrated every year on 29 October across the country. PM Modi on October 29 launched health-related projects worth around Rs 12,850 crore. National Ayurveda Day is celebrated on Dhanvantari Jayanti. The Central Government had started Ayurveda Day in 2016 to create more awareness about Ayurveda.

Recently the Ballon d'Or Award 2024 has been announced, where Manchester City midfielder Rodri won the title of best footballer in the men's category. In the women's category, Aitana Bonmati won the title of best footballer.
