Answers

1. (b) Padma Vibhushan

India’s first Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat will be posthumously honoured with the Padma Vibhushan award. The CDS had died in a tragic helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu in December 2021.

The Republic Day Flypast comprised 75 aircraft and helicopters making different formations as they fly past Rajpath. The flypast included the current modern aircraft/helicopters like Rafale, Sukhoi, Jaguar, Mi-17, Sarang, Apache and Dakota displaying various formations including Amrit, Eklavya, Rahat, Meghna, Trishul, Tiranga and Vijay.

3. (c) Civil Aviation

This year, the Civil Aviation Ministry presented its tableau at the Republic Day Parade 2022 for the first time. The tableau showcased the Regional Connectivity Scheme UDAN. Under UDAN scheme, 403 routes connect about 65 underserved/unserved airports across the country including helicopters and water aerodromes.

4. (b) Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh government has announced the formation of 13 new districts under the AP Districts Formation Act, Section 3(5). The new districts in Andhra Pradesh have been formed based on the Parliamentary constituencies. They are carved out from the 13 existing districts, bringing the total number of districts in the state to 26.

5. (c) Moon

A part of the SpaceX rocket that was launched seven years ago in 2015 is still floating in space, in what experts are calling a chaotic orbit. Based on recent observations and calculations by astronomers, it is going to crash into the Moon on March 4, 2022.

India is ranked fourth in the ICC ODI Team Rankings 2022, third in the ICC Test Team Rankings 2022 and second in the ICC T20 Rankings 2022. Virat Kohli is the highest-ranked Indian in ICC ODI Player Rankings 2022.

R Ashwin is the highest-ranked bowler in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings 2022, followed by Jasprit Bumrah who is ranked at 10th place. Bumrah is ranked at the 7th rank in the ICC ODI Bowling Rankings 2022.
