The central government has given temporary approval to the second tiger reserve of Bihar state. This reserve will be established in the Kaimur district of the state. The decision came following a proposal by the Bihar state government and aims to improve wildlife conservation in the area. The Kaimur forests are the largest in Bihar, covering an area of 1,134 square km.

IIT Delhi and International Energy Agency (IEA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for clean energy transition. The MoU aims to exchange information on policy analysis, energy technology trends. The International Energy Agency is a Paris-based autonomous intergovernmental organization established in 1974.

Recently Manoj Kumar Dubey has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of IRFC Limited. He has been appointed for a term of five years. Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal has announced his retirement from professional tennis. He has won the Grand Slam title 22 times. He is also the only player to achieve Golden Slam in his career. Nadal has won 92 ATP singles titles in his career, including one Olympic gold medal.

South Korean writer Han Kang has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for the year 2024. This award was given to Han for his deeply poetic prose. The Swedish Academy has announced this award, along with which a sum of 11 million Swedish Crowns will also be given.
