1. (a) TATA
India on September 24, 2021 signed a contract worth Rs 20,000 crore with Airbus Defence and Space of Spain to procure 56 C-295 military transport aircraft. The project is the first of its kind as it will be the first time that a military aircraft will be wholly manufactured in India by a private company, Tata Advanced Systems (TASL).

Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer Shershaah, a movie based on the life of Capt Vikram Batra, was the opening film of the first-ever Himalayan Film Festival. The 5-day festival will provide a unique opportunity to the local filmmakers to showcase their stories on a wider platform.

The oldest human footprints in North America have been discovered in new scientific research conducted by archaeologists in New Mexico. The research conducted at the White Sands national park in New Mexico estimated that the footprints were between 21,000 and 23,000 years old.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has mandated to reduce the limit of industrially produced trans-fat to less than 2 percent. The step has been taken to make the country free from the industrially produced trans fate by the year 2022, a year ahead of the World Health Organisation guidelines.

The Union Ministry of Defence placed an order on September 23, 2021 to procure 118 Main Battle Tanks Arjun Mk 1A for the Indian Army at a cost of Rs 7,523 crores. The development is expected to give a further boost to the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
