D J Pandiyan appointed as new chief secretary of Gujarat
DJ Pandian was appointed as the new chief secretary of Gujarat. He will succeed outgoing Dr Varesh Sinha.
D Jagatheesa Pandian was appointed as the new chief secretary of Gujarat on 30 October 2014. Pandiyan who was the Additional Chief Secretary in industry and mines department will succeed outgoing Dr Varesh Sinha. Pandian retires in May 2015.
Dr Sinha’s extension expires on 31 October 2014. Sinha an IAS of 1977 batch, had been given extension twice post his retirement in April 2014.

• Pandian has held several portfolios including energy and petrochemicals and revenue during then chief minister (now Prime Minister) Narendra Modi
