First pro-Hindi political party of Tamil Nadu was launched by Madras High Court Advocates Association in Tamil Nadu on 17 February 2014. The party Tamil Maanila Katchi favours a pro-Hindi stand.
The launch saw the participation of a large number of advocates.
In place of a bilingual system of learning, there will be a trilingual regime including Hindi.
Denying Hindi education to southern children has not helped their development. The state will need to break from the past and make Hindi a compulsory subject at least till Class V.
Party has its lots of agendas like non-discrimination of Brahmins, Development of barren lands, safeguarding interests of fishermen, traders and women.
Party made a strong pitch for abolishing the practice of distributing freebies by governments, saying it made people lazy.
