The Ganga Expressway will be finished before the Maha Kumbh, which is scheduled for Prayagraj the following year. Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi has directed the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) authorities to accelerate the Ganga Express's construction.
Minister Gupta also directed UPEIDA to complete the remaining 1.5% construction of the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. He instructed the officials to finish it quickly so that the Expressway could be opened to the public before December.
Ganga Expressway for Maha Kumbh
The 594-kilometer Ganga Expressway is being built to connect 12 districts, including Meerut, to Prayagraj and shorten travel times, according to Gupta, who visited Tourism Bhawan on Wednesday to examine UPEIDA's development projects. This would facilitate Prayagraj's accessibility for lakhs of people during Maha Kumbh 2025.
